INTUG Submits Report for Upcoming APECTEL36
INTUG has submitted a voluntary report to APEC’s Telecommunications and Information Working Group (TEL) for its 36th meeting in Santiago, Chile on the 23rd of October. The report focuses, among other things, on business users communications needs, competition in the field of communications markets, developments in FttH, online secure environments, VoIP access to emergency services and several consumer issues.
The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Telecommunications and Information Working Group aims to improve telecommunications and information infrastructure in the Asia-Pacific region by developing and implementing appropriate telecommunications and information policies, including relevant human resource and development cooperation strategies.
This is reflected in the Working Group’s expanded vision of promoting the transition from an Asia-Pacific Information Infrastructure into the Asia-Pacific Information Society.
